Ms. Larky has worked with pediatric and adult cochlear implant patients for over 11 years. She is a co-investigator in numerous FDA clinical trials to assess the safety and effectiveness of new cochlear implant technologies. She is published in the field and has presented nationally and internationally on numerous aspects of cochlear implantation. Ms. Larky is responsible for both the clinical and daily operation of the Center and sees patients on a regular basis, providing the full range of services to cochlear implant candidates and recipients. She received her MA degree in audiology from the University of Iowa. Colleen Polite, M.S., CCC/A Senior Audiologist Ms. Polite is experienced in the assessment and rehabilitation of both children and adults with hearing loss. She has expertise and interest in assistive technologies for the deaf. She also participates in the Center's FDA clinical trials to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new cochlear implant technologies. Ms. Polite received her MA degree in audiology from San Francisco State University. Anil K. Lalwani, M.D. Implant surgeon Dr. Lalwani is an Associate Professor in Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Chief of Pediatric Otology and Neurotology. He evaluates and treats the full spectrum of ear diseases in adults and children. His Laboratory of Molecular Otology conducts research in the genetics of deafness and the application of gene therapy for hearing disorders. He has published over 80 articles in this discipline. Dr. Lalwani received his MD from the University of Michigan Medical School. |
